Festival of Faith

for Christian Unity

What is it?

The Greater Toronto Council of Christian Churches is marking the 1700th anniversary of the Nicene Creed.  It is tentatively titled, “A Festival of Faith for Christian Unity:  A Journey through the Nicene Creed”.   The World Council of Churches has chosen this anniversary as the theme for the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity in 2025. To mark this occasion each participating Christian community was asked to implement the study session provided by the WCC and allow this session, if desired, to be open to other Christians in the surrounding neighborhood.  Moreover, as an ecumenical dimension, St. George’s along with St Gregorey’s Catholic Church is hosting the event which focuses on the section of the Creed that covers “The Fatherhood and care of God who rules the universe”. Refreshments will be served throughout the morning of fellowship, readings and group discussion!
